PetroChina Gear Oil Additive Wins Second Prize of the National Technology Invention Award

China's gear oil additives realize the dream of domestic production
The developing unit, the Lanzhou Lubricant Research and Development Center, has also become an outstanding player in the same industry
The project Preparation Technology and Industrial Application of Extreme Pressure Anti-Wear Additives and Packages for Gear Oils, completed under the leadership of Dean Fu Xisheng and others at the Lanzhou Lubricant Research and Development Center of PetroChina Lubricant Company, won a 2009 second prize of the National Technology Invention Award on January 11! When the good news arrived, the whole center was thrilled. This is not only the most substantial scientific and technological achievement won by PetroChina Lubricant Company since it was formally established in 2000, but also the only project in Gansu Province to win a National Technology Invention Award.

The National Technology Invention Award is mainly intended to reward scientific and technical personnel who have achieved unprecedented, advanced and practically valuable major new scientific and technological achievements in socialist construction. This weighty honor was hard won. It has made the Lanzhou Lubricant Research and Development Center an outstanding player within the PetroChina system and in the national petrochemical industry, ranking among the leaders of domestic lubricant research institutes!
The multi-effect gear oil blended with this invention was certified by the Equipment Department of the General Logistics Department as the only designated oil for equipment related to the 2009 National Day military parade. The high-strength gear oils used in five heavy equipment formations, including the advanced tank formation that took part in the military parade marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China, all came from this center.
Has obtained 10 Chinese invention patents
This project solved the problem of domestic production of Chinese gear oil additives. It has obtained 1 US invention patent and 10 Chinese invention patents and has achieved large-scale market application. From 2006 to 2008, its related products produced a total of 15,637 tons of gear oil additives and 221,051 tons of gear oil, generating combined additional profit of 447.79 million yuan and additional tax revenue of 83.71 million yuan. Through 12 years of industrial application, it has formed 12 enterprise standards and 5 production specifications.
