Three high-frequency words interpret the new situation
The pace of economic and technological development is astonishing, bringing huge changes to many industries — and the lubricant industry is certainly no exception. How will the lubrication industry develop in the future? Let us look at three high-frequency words from the first day of the forum.
The first word: “transformation.” As the auto industry restructures and new energy vehicles develop ever faster, the lubricant industry must naturally transform as well.
The second word: “green.” What is the fashionable color of industrial development? Green, of course. As the blood of industry, lubricants must also raise their technical level in terms of friendliness, fuel-saving level and “long-life” technology to expand their “green coverage.”
The third word: “intelligence.” The era of intelligence has arrived; even cars are smart now — what is the lubricant industry waiting for?
Overall, technological refinement, conceptual upgrading and coordinated ecological development of the entire industry chain are the three sharp weapons for the lubricant industry to overtake on the curve under the new circumstances.

Meeting the new situation: what has Kunlun Lubricant done?
Mr. Gong Weijun, executive deputy general manager of PetroChina Lubricant Company, attended this forum and delivered a speech. In his speech, Mr. Gong pointed out that China’s market economy has now entered a new normal and is transforming from Made in China to Created in China. As a shining calling card of PetroChina, Kunlun Lubricant has for many years devoted itself to fulfilling the mission of raising the national level of lubrication. Facing the new situation, Kunlun Lubricant carried out a brand-new transformation and upgrade, gradually achieving the transformation from production-oriented to service-oriented and from business-oriented to platform-oriented, and building a leading lubricant industry brand of “military-grade quality, a pillar of the great nation” — a strategic adjustment that coincides exactly with industry development.
Of course, advanced technical strength is also Kunlun Lubricant’s “magic weapon.” In technological R&D, Kunlun Lubricant can be said to “speak with strength”: it has won 34 provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards, achieved 351 scientific research results with a conversion rate as high as 86%, and obtained more than 100 state-authorized patents; it is a unit participating in the formulation and revision of national and industry lubricant standards, having formulated and revised 89 national and industry standards and 230 enterprise standards; and its scientific research achievements filled the gap of national science and technology awards in the lubricant industry. In the forum report, Mr. Gong also mentioned additives and high-end lubricating grease products independently developed by PetroChina, which became a highlight of the scene.

Besides technological achievements, Kunlun Lubricant has a far-sighted industry strategic layout: upstream extending to base oils, additives and other industries, downstream extending to marketing channels and the after-sales service market related to lubricant products. In plain terms, that means wide connections, more cooperation, and jointly welcoming a bright tomorrow for the industry. Kunlun Lubricant therefore also strives to build the China Lubrication Technology Forum into a platform of “joint consultation, joint construction and sharing,” carefully nurturing mutual benefit and win-win results for lubricants and related industries, comprehensively advancing high-quality development of the lubricant industry and adding fuel to the national strategy of “Made in China 2025”!
