On March 22, a Kunlun Tianrun product upgrade launch conference themed “Quality at a New Height” was held impressively at the Shanghai International Convention Center. It was learned on site that Kunlun Tianrun is the first in China to launch products meeting the latest European energy-saving and environmental ACEA C5 specification requirements and products meeting the performance requirements of the API SN PLUS technical standard about to be issued; with anti-wear performance 70% above the standard limit, the newly upgraded products represent three major technological highlights that breakthrough-style lead a lubricant technology revolution.

In the face of continuous severe challenges from engine technology and traffic conditions, at this launch conference Kunlun Lubricant, guided by the development philosophy of caring for the environment, caring for machines and caring for people, comprehensively upgraded the Kunlun Tianrun product line in three aspects: “quality improvement,” “enriching low-viscosity products” and “service concept improvement.” It further addressed the three major challenges brought by the spread of TGDI (turbocharged gasoline direct injection) technology, providing higher-quality lubricants for TGDI engines to ensure their efficient operation while offering vehicles maximum fuel savings and excellent durability protection.

Multiple technologies lead the industry to a new height
At the conference, Mi Liping, director of the Kunlun Lubricant Product Design Center, explained the advantages and core competitiveness of the upgraded Kunlun Tianrun product series. The starting point of every product’s development conveys the craftsman quality Kunlun Lubricant has always maintained. For current and future mainstream engines, and in response to the low-speed pre-ignition and timing chain wear issues of GDI and TGDI models, it launched oils meeting the SN PLUS specification about to be issued. Kunlun Lubricant’s mainstream products, the KR9-T, KR9 and KR8 series, are all upgraded to SN and above specifications. Moreover, Kunlun Lubricant’s mainstream products meet the oil specifications of GM, Porsche, Volkswagen, BMW, Renault, Ford, Peugeot and Citroën, giving them broader coverage and adaptability.

For city driving, where vehicles stop and go, start and stop frequently and run at low speed, engines face increased starting wear, low-temperature sludge formation and carbon deposits. Kunlun Lubricant innovated “core-protecting start-stop molecule” technology to handle urban road conditions; efficient core-protecting dispersing technology and start-stop anti-wear technology can resist the formation of low-temperature sludge and wear at the moment of starting, giving the engine brand-new protection. In terms of energy saving and environmental protection, Kunlun Lubricant, on the one hand, actively responds to the low-viscosity requirement by launching 0W-20 and 5W-20 products. On the other hand, for Europe’s most advanced vehicles with exhaust aftertreatment systems (with TWC/DPF/GPF), it launched for the first time Europe’s highest-specification energy-saving and environmentally friendly C5 oil.
