In December, a major event known in the industry as the “Olympics of the auto world” — the Kunlun Lubricant Cup · 2017 China Car Performance Competition (CCPC) — will hold its closing battle in Yakeshi City, Hulunbuir, where all competing vehicles will fully undergo “cold-resistance” performance tests in the “hometown of ice and snow.” With the Karamay gobi and Dafeng high-performance competition rounds having come to a perfect close, Kunlun Lubricant, as the title sponsor of the 2017 CCPC and the event’s only officially designated oil and comprehensive strategic partner, will continue to escort the many competing vehicles with its brand image of “military-grade quality, a pillar of the great nation.”
A powerful alliance: Kunlun joins hands with CCPC to aim for domestic first-class status
As China’s only domestic event in which completely unmodified production cars are used as competition vehicles, the CCPC has been held successfully for three years, upholding the mission of promoting Chinese automotive culture, advancing the optimization of vehicle performance and the healthy development of China’s auto industry, and guiding the public to form rational views on car consumption. Its public influence has steadily increased, establishing an authoritative, fair and truthful image in the minds of car consumers, while creating an authoritative stage on which Chinese production models can scientifically and comprehensively showcase their performance characteristics; it presents a national Class-A event to audiences and also provides consumers with objective, authoritative and practical car-buying reference.
Similarly, Kunlun Lubricant, as a national brand, has always been market-oriented, adhered to an independent-formulation R&D path and innovation-driven development to provide users with ideal lubrication solutions, and is committed to contributing to the development of China’s auto industry; over the years it has also actively participated in various domestic and overseas racing events, spreading automotive culture to more regions. This year marks the first cooperation between Kunlun Lubricant and the CCPC; the two sides explore together and cooperate deeply in the event, and by leveraging their strong respective professional advantages they have enhanced the brand awareness and reputation of both the CCPC and Kunlun Lubricant. With Kunlun Lubricant’s strong backing, the CCPC’s effort to build the most authoritative and professional automotive event platform in China is like a tiger with wings.
This powerful alliance also reflects Kunlun Lubricant’s unwavering support for China’s automotive cause; in the cooperation, Kunlun Lubricant places particular emphasis on accumulating rich first-hand data at the production-car frontline, promoting continuous technological progress while escorting vehicles of all kinds.
Ice and snow competition: Yakeshi to launch an “extreme cold” challenge
In December, after successively enduring the high-temperature test of the Karamay gobi and the high-performance competition at Dafeng, the CCPC will meet the ultimate challenge of the high-cold venue in Yakeshi. Located in the central part of Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia, Yakeshi means “fortress” (in Manchu); its winter lasts more than five months, and the severe cold keeps winter temperatures below minus 35 degrees Celsius year after year. The world’s most professional winter testing ground located here fully tests the “cold resistance” performance of all competing vehicles in high-cold weather.
The 2017 CCPC added events including the Kunlun Lubricant King of Racing Challenge and the Soueast Motor Cup Media Elite Challenge, building multiple platforms for the public to display driving skills so that more people can get in touch with and fall in love with motorsport. Due to the special climate, compared with traditional venues this event demands a very high degree of coordination between venue and programs. As the segment most anticipated by drivers and spectators, the Kunlun Lubricant King of Racing Challenge (Group K) at Yakeshi is subdivided into individual time trial and team duel, both held at the all-round competition venue and the lap timing venue; the snow-compacted surface used throughout the event makes the test for vehicles and drivers even more rigorous. The individual time trial is divided into a lap time trial and an all-round competition: each of the 15 entrants runs 3 laps, the first lap for adapting to the venue and not counted toward the result, and the second and third laps as official competition; after finishing, the drivers move to the all-round competition area. There, each driver races only 2 laps, the first for adapting to the venue and the second as official competition; the results of the two competitions are tallied to select the top five, who then take part in a team duel against five experience drivers, with rankings decided by total time. Competing on ice and snow places higher demands on vehicles and on drivers’ driving skills alike, and also tests the organizing committee’s staff coordination and its control over event safety.
Defying the cold winter: Kunlun Lubricant helps racing performance reach its extreme
Faced with the winter trial of Yakeshi, Kunlun Lubricant will as always escort the event vehicles. It is well known that severe cold weather is a very tough test for lubricant oils: ordinary lubricants thicken at low temperatures and their flow rate slows markedly, making it hard for internal engine parts to be lubricated, which causes difficult starting and engine wear. Choosing an oil with better overall performance, high fluidity and wear resistance can ensure that the engine still delivers strong power at low temperatures. As the only designated oil of the CCPC, Kunlun Lubricant not only has good low-temperature fluidity, reaching every corner inside the engine quickly to provide lubrication protection and keep the engine effectively lubricated, but also possesses super-strong wear resistance that further prevents engine wear, extends service life and helps racing performance reach its extreme.
Market surveys show that several Kunlun Lubricant products, with their super-strong anti-wear and lubrication technology, are widely recognized by consumers; multiple products under the brand have been selected by FAW Group, SAIC Group, Dongfeng Motor Corporation and other automotive and equipment OEMs as factory-fill and service oil, and are sold at home and abroad, with factual data demonstrating the nature of the products.
To revitalize manufacturing, we must drive the strategic shift of manufacturing from quantitative expansion to quality improvement. It is not hard to see that, with the horn of the closing battle of the “Kunlun Lubricant Cup · 2017 China Car Performance Competition” about to sound, with the state’s attention and investment, with the transformation and development of national enterprises, with the cooperative promotion of national brands represented by Kunlun Lubricant, and through event after event of tempering and practice, a large number of products with high supply quality will surely surge forth, installing a new quality-driven engine for China’s industrial transformation and upgrading and for the steady advancement of the “Made in China 2025” strategy.
