The first-level procurement catalog covers materials centrally procured by the group company and its affiliated enterprises and must offer good quality and price advantages. PetroChina Lubricant Company, relying on the series of lubricant products with independent intellectual property rights formed through decades of continuous research and development, has been included in the first-level procurement catalog for their anti-wear, anti-corrosion, long oil drain interval and environmentally friendly characteristics.
As business has developed, the modernization level of equipment at enterprises affiliated with PetroChina has risen year by year, making equipment lubrication and maintenance increasingly complex. After research, relevant experts found that losses such as equipment accidents and reduced service life caused by improper lubrication at enterprises can be counted in the hundreds of millions of yuan each year.
After entering the first-level procurement catalog, PetroChina Lubricant Company will work to provide services to PetroChina's internal enterprises while actively developing the high-end social market. The company is making efforts to build PetroChina's lubricant workshop, proceeding from the overall interests of PetroChina, aiming to meet lubricant product demand within the system, taking reducing enterprise production costs as the core, using technical services as the breakthrough point and focusing on import substitution, to provide considerate service to enterprises.
The company sends lubricant experts to visit enterprises on their own initiative and tailor lubrication solutions according to equipment conditions, achieving good results.
The equipment of PetroChina Offshore Engineering Company operates at sea all year round, in an environment characterized by high salt, fog, humidity and large temperature differences, placing harsh demands on lubricant performance. After research and demonstration, the Lubricant Company formulated a Kunlun product support plan for the CPOE5 drilling platform, consolidating and simplifying more than 30 lubricant varieties previously used down to 13, making storage and use more convenient while ensuring equipment integrity.
The Kunlun lubricant support plan tailored by PetroChina Lubricant Company for Qinghai Oilfield Company greatly improved the oilfield's lubrication benefits and equipment availability. In 2009, Qinghai Oilfield purchased more than 900 tons of Kunlun Lubricant annually, with market coverage reaching 90 percent.
The dedicated lubricants the Lubricant Company provides for large machinery manufacturers such as Jichai Power and Baoji Petroleum have improved product performance. The Lubricant Company and Jichai Power jointly established the PetroChina Jichai Power Lubricant Development Laboratory. Targeting the dual-fuel engines developed by Jichai, they developed a dedicated lubricant for dual-fuel engines, taking PetroChina's equipment manufacturing industry a big step forward on the road of energy saving, consumption reduction, emission reduction and environmental protection.
The Lubricant Company also actively explores all-round cooperation with enterprises. It signed a general contracting agreement for equipment lubrication with Sichuan Petrochemical Company, providing one-stop, nanny-style lubrication services covering everything from the establishment and management of lubricant stations, oil procurement, storage, distribution and waste oil recovery, to the creation of equipment lubrication ledgers and direct lubrication monitoring and management.
