Scaling New Heights Again: Kunlun Lubricant Fuels the Long-Formation “Fuxing”

From midnight on July 1, railways nationwide implemented this year’s second-stage train operation plan, and the long-formation “Fuxing” EMU made its first run on the Beijing–Shanghai high-speed railway, with passenger capacity reaching a record high. This not only marks another step up in China’s high-speed rail technology; more importantly, in independent technological innovation, China’s high-speed rail is once again at the forefront of the world. The EMU gearbox lubricant supporting the long-formation “Fuxing” again originates from Kunlun Lubricant — for Kunlun Lubricant, this means another new leap.
Unlike the eight-car “Fuxing,” the CR400BF-A long-formation “Fuxing” train has 16 carriages in an eight-powered, eight-trailer configuration with a total length of more than 400 meters; because its shape resembles a golden phoenix trailing a long tail, rail fans boldly call it “Big Long Gold.” Despite its long body, “Big Long Gold” fully meets the requirement to operate at 350 km/h. For the upgraded “Fuxing,” the oil for the gearbox — the core component of traction power — is crucial.
History is always strikingly similar: on June 26, 2017, the “Fuxing” made its dual-direction debut at Beijing South and Shanghai Hongqiao stations at either end of the Beijing–Shanghai high-speed railway. As the first independently formulated gear oil product to break the foreign monopoly on high-speed rail oil in China, and as the first domestic oil to complete a 600,000-kilometer on-board assessment test, Kunlun lubricant was well deserved to become the supporting oil for the “Fuxing” EMU. One year after entering service, the “Fuxing” EMU had carried a cumulative 41.3 million passengers, bringing Chinese people full confidence and pride and becoming a new “national calling card” representing China’s intelligent manufacturing.
Although successfully applied on the “Fuxing,” Kunlun Lubricant’s pace of striving never paused during the past 2017. It successively completed the 600,000-kilometer batch on-board assessment tests for the 350 km/h CRH380AL and CR400AF standard EMUs, and through third-party oil monitoring and final teardown inspection of the gearboxes verified the excellent performance of Kunlun lubricant, providing an endless stream of technical support for Chinese high-speed rail’s subsequent development. Currently 80% of “Fuxing” gearboxes on the Beijing–Shanghai line are filled with Kunlun lubricant; Kunlun Lubricant has delivered a perfect answer sheet with convincing technical strength.
