The 'Green Development' the Premier Spoke of: Kunlun Began Long Ago

Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council pointed out in his government work report on March 5 that in 2016 eight areas of work would be given priority, and expressly mentioned the need to strengthen environmental governance and achieve new breakthroughs in promoting green development. Tackling pollution and protecting the environment bear on the health of the people and on sustainable development; they must be pushed forward forcefully, and we must resolve to blaze a path of win-win development for both the economy and the environment. General Secretary Xi Jinping has also said: 'We want both green mountains and clear waters and mountains of gold and silver. We would rather have green mountains and clear waters than mountains of gold and silver, and moreover green mountains and clear waters are themselves mountains of gold and silver.'
