From October 17 to 22, the second round of the Kunlun Lubricant Cup - 2018 China Car Performance Competition (CCPC) was held in Jialize, Songming, Kunming. More than 30 well-known automakers from across the country, including GAC, BAIC, Changan and SAIC, and more than 50 popular models gathered to stage a "China auto industry Olympics" on the Yunnan plateau. On October 18, 2018, Xiao Hongwei, General Manager and Party Secretary of PetroChina Lubricant Company, and Sun Shuhao, Deputy General Manager, attended the opening ceremony as the event's title sponsor, joining Niu Xiangchun, Deputy Party Secretary of the China Automotive Technology and Research Centre Co., Ltd., Lin Jie, Vice President of the China Motorcycle Sports Association, leaders of the Songming government, and senior executives of automakers such as Dongfeng, GAC and Brilliance in the celebration. As one of the important competition events of the 2018 CCPC, the Kunlun Lubricant King of Racing attracted close attention, and the support of the "Queen of Nine-Ball" Pan Xiaoting drew even more public attention. The exciting competition not only attracted the attention of major media, but also showcased the style of the participating automakers and drivers through a CCTV live broadcast.
At around 13:00 on the 17th, the dashing Pan Xiaoting appeared at the track in her racing suit to flag off the "2018 Kunlun Lubricant King of Racing", and also personally took to the track to drive, cheering on the competitors with concrete action. As China's first winner of the Women's World Nine-Ball Championship, Pan Xiaoting's championship quality of constantly challenging her limits and Kunlun Lubricant's spirit of pursuing excellence converge in this mass-participation motorsport, inspiring ordinary people who love racing to realise their dreams here.

Also "competing on the same stage" with Pan Xiaoting were the 10 elite racers who emerged victorious from the Kunming leg qualifying rounds. After fierce competition in the 0-400 metre drag race and the combined circuit race, Liu Chuan from Chongqing, Liang Shuai from Beijing and Wei Kexing from Chongqing took the top three places, and they will meet the top three of the Yancheng Dafeng leg in Yakeshi for the final showdown.

This competition was held on a plateau at an altitude of 2,000 metres, where thin oxygen posed a considerable challenge for both drivers and cars. The higher the altitude, the lower the air pressure and oxygen content. Not only do people suffer from altitude sickness, but vehicle engines also lose 10%-15% of their power, and gasoline cars are especially affected. Therefore, improving engine transmission efficiency and reducing the "altitude sickness" caused by the cars' "lack of oxygen" became one of the keys to ensuring the smooth running of the event; among these factors, lubricants play a role that cannot be ignored. The composite additive of Kunlun Star contains polar surfactant polymers that can prevent the formation and accumulation of fuel deposits, safeguard engine performance, ensure full combustion of the oil and inhibit corrosion of the engine by fuel, effectively alleviating problems such as difficult starting, unstable idling, power loss and poor acceleration. The CCPC is a professional testing platform for the performance of mass-production vehicles. This plateau challenge was not only a severe test of vehicle performance, but also a rigorous test of vehicle oils and maintenance products. With the main events of this competition concluded, the organising committee of the 2018 CCPC will conduct engine oil performance tests from October 20 to 22, carrying out multi-dimensional performance comparisons between Kunlun Tianrun, the event's sole designated oil, and the factory-fill engine oils of the CCPC competition vehicle models. During this period, two tests will be conducted in the high-altitude environment: 0-100 km/h standing-start acceleration and long-distance fuel consumption under combined operating conditions. Items such as low-temperature cold starting, low-temperature fluidity, wear and turbocharger protection will subsequently be tested at the Yakeshi leg and in professional testing laboratories. The final results will be released at the 2018 CCPC annual awards ceremony, providing a technical basis for automakers and users to select oil scientifically and reasonably.
