Kunlun Lubrication synthetic refrigeration compressor oil achieves a new application breakthrough in the petroleum refining and chemical industry

On January 9, Kunlun synthetic refrigeration compressor oil KHP1068 passed the application test on the propylene refrigeration compressor of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company and obtained the application certificate from Lanzhou Petrochemical Company, marking a breakthrough application of this product in the refining and chemical industry and laying a solid foundation for promoting the localization of refrigeration compressor oil at PetroChina refining and chemical enterprises.
Refrigeration compressors are key equipment in the refining and chemical industry, and the propylene refrigeration compressor is the pearl among refrigeration compressors in the refining and chemical industry. In the refining and chemical industry, the propylene refrigeration compressor is mainly responsible for promptly removing the huge amount of heat generated in chemical reactions such as monomer polymerization. If the compressor runs poorly and heat removal is slow, it will not only affect the quality of the polymerization reaction, but may even create safety hazards due to the high-temperature state of the reactor. Generally, to avoid risks and hidden dangers, the lubricating oil required by key equipment in refining and chemical production will not be easily changed in brand.
Previously, the propylene refrigeration compressors of PetroChina refining and chemical enterprises were mainly of foreign brands, generally using the special lubricating oil recommended by the manufacturer, which was expensive. Although Kunlun Lubrication had a refrigeration compressor oil product corresponding to their special oil, it had not been recognized because of a lack of application cases.
One must tackle the hardest and aim for the highest and farthest. Since 2020, Kunlun Lubrication's Product Design Center has made the localization of oil for propylene refrigeration compressors a key research target, and with an attitude of never giving up it has continuously communicated and exchanged views with PetroChina's refining and chemical enterprises, seeking the right moment for the application of Kunlun lubricating oil products. Hard work pays off: at the end of 2022, learning that Lanzhou Petrochemical Company's RWB II 134E propylene refrigeration compressor was scheduled for equipment overhaul and oil change in 2023, the Product Design Center and the Lanzhou Lubricant Plant immediately got in touch with relevant personnel of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company and connected with the localization of oil for the compressor. Through several demonstrations of the equipment's working conditions and the application performance of the oil, they convinced Lanzhou Petrochemical Company with technical strength to agree to apply and examine Kunlun Lubrication's refrigeration compressor oil product on the propylene refrigeration compressor. Subsequently, the Product Design Center and the Lanzhou Lubricant Plant set up a joint research task force to formulate equipment lubrication plans, oil application plans and emergency response plans for the oil use process of the equipment, as well as oil supply guarantee measures during equipment overhaul. In the end, with its outstanding product quality and high-quality technical service, Kunlun Lubrication won the recognition and affirmation of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company; Kunlun synthetic refrigeration compressor oil KHP1068 was successfully applied on the RWB II 134E propylene refrigeration compressor, achieving a zero breakthrough in the refining and chemical industry.
