Lanzhou Lubricant Plant Fights Counterfeits Through Overt and Covert Checks, Regulating Market Service and Sales

As the Kunlun brand's market share and user recognition have continued to rise, some small blending plants have illegally filled large quantities of products bearing counterfeit Kunlun brands to reap huge profits, causing great harm to Kunlun Lubricant Company, distributors, users and society. Kunlun Lubricant's Lanzhou Lubricant Plant actively assisted the various sales branches, taking the initiative to purify the market and, with improving service quality as the breakthrough point, continuously cracking down on dens producing fake and inferior oil and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of the Kunlun brand.
Through long-term overt and covert investigations, relevant staff found that the sources of counterfeit Kunlun oils purportedly produced by Lanzhou Lubricant Plant were mainly concentrated in Lanzhou, Shaanxi and Henan, and that the counterfeit dens were tightly guarded, creating difficulties for rights protection and anti-counterfeiting work. It is understood that most counterfeit dens operate at night. They prepare packaging materials before filling, immediately affix packaging marks such as drum labels and anti-counterfeiting codes after filling, and truck the goods out of the plant overnight. Most of the fake oil in large drums is delivered directly to end users and is rarely seen on the market, while counterfeit oil in small and medium packaging does enter the market for sale, but the genuine Kunlun lubricant is displayed on the counter while fakes are hidden in the warehouse, so that what users see when buying is a legitimate product but what they take away is a counterfeit.
After grasping the distribution and characteristics of the counterfeit dens, the Lanzhou Lubricant Plant and the sales branches also actively worked with relevant state administrative law enforcement departments to formulate rigorous anti-counterfeiting measures and achieved a series of results. The Lanzhou Lubricant Plant conducted more than 20 market visits and anti-counterfeiting operations in Gansu, Shaanxi, Henan, Qinghai, Xinjiang and Shanxi, pinpointed 13 counterfeit production sites in northwest, central south and east China, and raided five of them. Over the year, a total of 1,570 fake products were confiscated, including 570 large drums and 1,000 small and medium packages. The relevant departments confiscated large quantities of counterfeit oil and penalized those responsible for serious counterfeiting. This series of actions effectively deterred market counterfeiting, curbed the harm done by fakes to Kunlun oils and boosted Kunlun oil sales.
