Researchers from Lanzhou R&D Center Attend the 9th National Tribology Conference

The 9th National Tribology Conference and the 30th anniversary celebration of the Tribology Branch, hosted by the Tribology Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and organized by the State Key Laboratory of Tribology at Tsinghua University, was held in Beijing from October 18 to 20, 2009. The conference was a grand gathering for China's tribology community, bringing together more than 400 senior and young tribology workers from across the country, including Taiwan, to review the development of Chinese tribology, exchange experience and insights from tribological research and applications, and look ahead to the prospects for the field in China.
The topics exchanged at the conference covered lubrication theory and design, micro and nano tribology, lubricants and additives, friction, wear and condition monitoring, biological and biomimetic tribology, and surface science and engineering. Dr. Li Jiusheng and Dr. He Zhongyi from the Kunlun Lubricant Lanzhou R&D Center were invited to this tribology gathering. Dr. Li Jiusheng presented two academic reports entitled Current Status and Trends in the Development of Domestic Lubricant Additives and Effects of Added Organic Amines on the Tribological Properties and Hydrolytic Stability of Borate Esters, while Dr. He Zhongyi gave a technical report to the attendees on the synergistic effect of the anti-wear performance of a class of alkali metal sulfonates with ashless antioxidants. As the most realistic and direct application area of tribology in industrial production, lubricants and their additives drew wide attention from participants, and the two researchers from the Lanzhou R&D Center held in-depth and extensive exchanges and discussions with researchers from research institutes and universities.
