Lubricant Company's Independently Developed N1000 Industrial Open Gear Oil Passes Its Use Trial

Recently, "Kunlun" N1000 industrial open gear oil, a non-toxic and harmless environmentally friendly lubricant product independently developed by the Lanzhou Lubricant R&D Center, successfully completed pilot-scale production at the Shanxi Pingshuo non-coal lubricant plant, and successfully underwent a use trial on PH2800 electric shovels produced by the US P&H Mining Equipment company at the Pingshuo open-pit coal mine. The trial results show that "Kunlun" N1000 industrial open gear oil has good adhesion and lubricating performance and can form a uniform oil film of a certain thickness on the surface of the shovel's large gear, providing excellent lubrication for the shovel gears, and can be put into use in its industrial production.
The successful development of "Kunlun" N1000 industrial open gear oil is an important achievement of Lubricant Company in implementing its concept of care, advocating a people-oriented approach, actively developing safe and environmentally friendly products and promoting the harmonious development of people and equipment.
The solvent-diluted open gear oil successfully developed by the Shanxi Pingshuo Coal Industry Company of the petrochemical sector from early 1994 to June 1995 once filled the domestic gap in solvent-diluted open gear oils. Solvent-diluted open gear oil is the most common type of lubricant used in open gear transmissions. At present the most commonly used approach is to add a volatile hydrocarbon solvent so that, during use, the solvent evaporates and forms a thin film covering the gear surface, thereby slowing mechanical wear and preventing dust and water from mixing into the lubricant and causing damage, ultimately achieving the purpose of preventing gear wear and lubricating the gear surface.
For a very long period in the past, people usually used volatile organic compounds such as trichloroethylene and perchloroethylene as diluent solvents for lubricants. Such chlorine-containing diluent solvents have advantages such as non-flammability and a fast evaporation rate, but trichloroethylene used in industry is seriously harmful to both human health and the environment, with potential problems including destruction of the ozone layer and the occurrence of diseases such as cancer.
In response to this problem, and taking into account factors such as safety and environmental protection, a people-oriented approach and the harmonious development of people and equipment, the researchers of Lubricant Company's Lanzhou R&D Center successfully overcame this technical difficulty. The independently developed "Kunlun" N1000 industrial open gear oil has excellent extreme pressure and lubricating properties and uses a non-toxic, odourless organic solvent that is non-toxic and harmless to the human body and can meet safety and environmental protection requirements to a high standard. At the same time, the production process is simple and easy to carry out, making it a high-quality open gear lubricating product.
The smooth passing of the use trial of "Kunlun" N1000 industrial open gear oil at the Pingshuo coal mine is another stage victory for the Lanzhou Lubricant R&D Center in the field of high-grade industrial gear oil research and development. It marks another new step forward in "Kunlun" lubricant industrial gear oil research and development work, and valuable work experience has been accumulated for future oil product research and development work.
