Lanzhou R&D Power Steering Oil Completes Project Review

Recently, the Kunlun PSF11 power steering oil developed by Lanzhou R&D successfully passed review and certification. This marks another patent added by Lanzhou R&D in the field of automotive lubricants and fills the gap in dedicated oils for domestic power steering systems.
As a transmission medium, lubricant plays an important role in ensuring the sound operation of commercial vehicle steering systems. At present, however, the failure rate of domestic commercial vehicle power steering systems has remained high, and there is no unified standard for power steering oil; automakers mostly substitute ATF, hydraulic transmission fluid, hydraulic oil or multigrade engine oil, and in use the vehicles develop a series of problems such as heavy steering, excessively high temperature rise and loud noise, posing potential risks to vehicle safety.
To solve this problem, Lanzhou R&D and Dongfeng jointly formulated the technical standard for commercial vehicle power steering oil, with Lanzhou R&D responsible for developing the product. To verify the oil's performance, the two sides conducted OEM bench testing at Shaanxi Qinchuan Machinery Development Co., Ltd. According to the test report issued by Dongfeng, Kunlun PSF11 power steering oil fully meets the operating requirements of Dongfeng commercial vehicle power steering systems and can go 60,000 kilometers without an oil change, extending users' oil change intervals in use and reducing waste oil discharge.
Next, PSF11 will become the factory-fill oil for Dongfeng commercial vehicle power steering systems and will gradually be introduced to the terminal market.
