Kunlun Lubricant and Universities Jointly Build a Joint Laboratory for High-Speed Railway Bearing Lubrication Technology (2011-12-28)

On December 16, the CNPC-Beijing Jiaotong University Joint Laboratory for High-Speed Railway Bearing Lubrication Technology, jointly built by PetroChina Lubricant Company and Beijing Jiaotong University, was established in Beijing. This marks an important and substantive step forward by PetroChina Lubricant Company in university-enterprise cooperation.

Luo Guiru, Deputy General Manager of PetroChina Lubricant Company, and Sun Shouguang, Vice President of Beijing Jiaotong University, unveiled the Joint Laboratory for High-Speed Railway Bearing Lubrication Technology and signed a cooperation agreement on behalf of the two sides.

The Joint Laboratory for High-Speed Railway Bearing Lubrication Technology was established by the two partners relying respectively on the Lanzhou Lubricant Research and Development Center of PetroChina and the School of Electrical Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong University. After its establishment, the joint laboratory will make full use of the advantages of both partners and, in response to the development needs of China's high-speed railways, jointly carry out regular research on the service performance of high-speed railway lubricants and bearings and related applied technology research, so as to promote the development and standardized use of high-speed railway lubricants in China.

Luo Guiru said that he hoped to take the establishment of the joint laboratory as an opportunity to integrate the excellent research and development personnel, strong teaching resources and advantageous projects of both partners, carry out all-round technical cooperation and personnel training, and jointly cultivate a group of bearing lubricant talents with strong independent innovation ability. In line with the national industrial revitalization strategy, the laboratory should undertake major national and provincial-level projects and jointly promote the commercialization of scientific research results.

Sun Shouguang said that PetroChina Lubricant Company has rich research experience and a strong research team in the field of lubricants and lubricant additives in China. The establishment of the joint laboratory can better give play to the advantages of each side and jointly promote the win-win development of China's high-speed railway industry and lubricant industry.

Beijing Jiaotong University is a key 211 university directly under the Ministry of Education and is in a leading
position in China in fields such as high-speed railway electrical engineering research and high-speed railway bearing technology development.
