Lanzhou R&D Center Invited to the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Lanzhou Aerospace Science and Technology Park

Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for the "Lanzhou Aerospace Science and Technology Park" of the 510th Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation — an important component of a national major special project — was grandly held in the Lanzhou High-tech Development Zone. As one of the four scientific research enterprises in the province invited to this event and the only oil product research and development institution in China invited, Fu Xisheng, director and Party secretary of the Lanzhou Lubricant R&D Center, attended the groundbreaking ceremony on behalf of the center.
The Lanzhou Aerospace Science and Technology Park project has received great attention from the state and the military as well as from the provincial and municipal governments. In addition to provincial and municipal leaders, Lieutenant General Zhang Jianqi, deputy director of the General Armaments Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and executive deputy chief commander of China's manned space engineering programme, and Major General Yang Liwei, the space hero, also made a special trip to attend the ceremony.
It is understood that the "Lanzhou Aerospace Science and Technology Park" of the 510th Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation is an important component of the basic support for a national major special project, with a planned area of 83 mu and a total floor area of more than 90,000 square meters, and is expected to be completed in two to three years. Once completed, it will become a dedicated scientific research base serving the lunar exploration programme and the manned space engineering programme.
After the groundbreaking ceremony ended, the Lanzhou Lubricant R&D Center carried out cross-field technical exchanges and communication covering a wide range of areas with many enterprise and institutional research units, including the 501st Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, China Xinghuo Machine Tool Group, the 704th Research Institute of the Machinery Industry Group and the Lanzhou Petroleum Machinery Research Institute. The Lanzhou Lubricant R&D Center focused on discussing lubrication solutions for the machinery and machine tool fields and the applicability of specialty oil products to these industries, and learned from research units involved in aerospace such as the 510th Institute about the technical characteristics and development prospects of aerospace lubricating greases.
These exchanges and communications gave the Lanzhou Lubricant R&D Center a completely new understanding of comprehensive lubrication solutions, related oil product research and development, and market prospects in industries it has not yet entered, and laid a good foundation for expanding exchanges and cooperation with other enterprise, institutional and research units in the future and for strengthening the center's research and development strength and product promotion.
