Overview of the Early Cooperation
Song Jiulin, former deputy director of the Lanzhou Lubricant Plant, explained: 'The cooperation between PetroChina and the Gezhouba Hydropower Station began in the 1980s. At that time China still had a planned economy, and the lubricant markets of Chinese provinces such as Hubei and Sichuan were mainly served by the Feitian lubricant produced by Lanzhou Refinery; Feitian lubricant sold very well and was in a state of short supply all year round.'
The Lanzhou Refinery general plant cooperated with the Gezhouba Hydropower Station by direct supply. At that time the turbine oil standard still followed the old grade designations, mainly No. 30 turbine oil, and anti-oxidant anti-rust turbine oil was not yet produced; later, after the new national standard was promulgated, the supplementary oil used by the Gezhouba Hydropower Station was TSA46 anti-oxidant anti-rust turbine oil (grade B).
Current Status of Equipment Oil Use at the Gezhouba Hydropower Station
Kunlun Lubricant supplies transformer oil and turbine oil for the operation of equipment at the Gezhouba Hydropower Station.
Transformer oil in use today:
Kunlun Lubricant supplies it through OEM cooperation with TBEA, providing No. 25 transformer oil from the Karamay Plant.
Turbine oil in use today:
The total oil used by the turbine units of the Gezhouba Hydropower Station is 2,600 tons, of the TSA46 (grade B) type produced by the Lanzhou Lubricant Plant of PetroChina; turbine oil has been used at the Gezhouba Hydropower Station for more than 30 years, with annual supplementary turbine oil maintained at between 80 and 150 tons.
The Gezhouba Hydropower Station began cooperating with PetroChina at the very start of its construction, and Kunlun Lubricant has accompanied it for 30 years with its original aspiration unchanged, winning recognition and praise with consistent quality and service!

Gezhouba Hydropower Station's Position in the Industry
The Gezhouba Power Plant is the first large hydropower station on the Yangtze and also the world's largest low-head, high-flow run-of-river hydropower station. Its total installed capacity is 2,715 MW, its designed guaranteed output is 768 MW, its annual utilization hours are 5,190 hours and its average annual power generation is 15.7 billion kWh.
Its powerful current is transmitted through seven 220 kV high-voltage, four 500 kV ultra-high-voltage and two plus or minus 500 kV ultra-high-voltage direct current transmission lines to seven provinces and one municipality in the Wu and Chu regions (the Central China grid and the East China grid). By the beginning of June this year cumulative power generation had exceeded 500 billion kWh, making an important contribution to the development of our national economy.
