14th Annual Meeting of the SAE-China Fuel and Lubricant Branch Held in Lanzhou

On August 11-12, 2010, the 14th annual meeting of the Fuel and Lubricant Branch of SAE-China (Society of Automotive Engineers of China), hosted by the branch and organized by PetroChina Lubricant Company, was held in Lanzhou. More than 160 delegates attended, including well-known experts from the domestic and international automotive industry and oil product R&D institutions, and technical personnel from professional lubricant and additive companies.
The theme of this annual meeting was "Automotive Energy Saving and Emission Reduction and Sustainable Development." Through keynote presentations, the conference focused on exchanging and introducing the domestic and international status quo, latest achievements, development trends and relevant policies and regulations in the development and application of automobiles, fuels and lubricants. During the meeting, Yang Junjie, deputy chief engineer of PetroChina Lubricant Company, delivered a speech on behalf of the company, and Zhang Qingwei, deputy director of the Market Development Division, gave a keynote address titled "China's Path to Becoming an Automotive Power and the Development of Lubricant Technology." Zhang Qingwei's address gave delegates an in-depth exposition of the impact of energy saving and emission reduction on the automotive and oil product industries, the relationship between the current state of the automotive industry and development trends in the lubricant industry, and the development history and technical level of PetroChina Lubricant Company. In addition, two researchers from the Lanzhou Lubricant R&D Center gave special reports on diesel detergent research and CJ-4 bench method research respectively, engaging in further technical exchange and discussion with attending experts and delegates. This academic annual meeting conducted in-depth discussion, from the perspectives of technological innovation and strategic research, on the interconnected development of China's automotive industry with the fuel and lubricant industries. Its aim was to jointly discuss the industry's development agenda through academic exchange, deepen industry cooperation and jointly pursue industry development, thereby forming cross-industry, shareable technological achievements and further raising the development level and competitiveness of China's automotive industry and the lubricant and additive industries.
