Kunlun Lubricant Comes First!

On the afternoon of June 16, as nearly 2,000 audience members and the headquarters choir sang "Without the Communist Party There Would Be No New China" together, the powerful singing echoing through the whole venue, the final of the "Heart Songs for the Party" singing competition held by PetroChina's Beijing-based units to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party drew to a successful close at the China Petroleum Management Cadre Institute. The Lubricant Company choir performed the original song "Ode to Petroleum" and "March of the Steel Torrent" and, with superb singing skills, seamless coordination and a splendid stage presentation, took first place with a high score of 96.22.
In the preliminary round, the Kunlun Lubricant choir had already ranked first with a score of 96.10. In the final, Kunlun Lubricant performed first; although its position in the running order was not favourable, the choir was not discouraged and, with soaring melodies and impassioned voices, gave a heartfelt rendition of "Ode to Petroleum", written originally for PetroChina, and "March of the Steel Torrent", ultimately winning over the judges and the audience, continuing its glory and taking first place. The impassioned songs seemed to carry memories back to the era of hard struggle that laid the foundation for the enterprise, singing out passion, strength and the drive of Kunlun Lubricant, and displaying the brand-new spirit of Kunlun Lubricant people with a victorious main melody.
