Announced! Winners of the Kunlun Lubricant Cup "China Heart" 2018 Top Ten Engines Selection

After the final on-vehicle testing stage,
the Kunlun Lubricant Cup "China Heart"
2018 Top Ten Engines selection's
final winning engine models and the recommended vehicles corresponding to those models
are now officially announced to the public!
The list of the 10 winning engine models and recommended vehicles is as follows

As the organiser of the Top Ten Engines selection, Auto & Sport magazine congratulates all the winning enterprises. Among the winning engines, four come from joint-venture brands and six from independent brands; looking at the overall situation this year, it has been a year of strong momentum for independent brands, especially in small and medium-displacement engines, where their investment has been enormous, their harvest the greatest of all, and forward development has produced abundant results. Congratulations to Changan Automobile, Xiaokang Power, FAW Besturn, Geely Automobile, Dongfeng Aeolus and JAC Motors!
As for joint-venture brands, this year was a relatively lean one. Audi FAW-Volkswagen, of the German school, is a regular on the Top Ten Engines list, and this EA888 fitted to the all-new Audi Q5L once again won the unanimous favour of the judges; the 2.0L naturally aspirated engine from GAC Toyota and FAW Toyota is a new-generation engine developed by Toyota on the TNGA architecture, and its extremely high thermal efficiency together with a series of breakthrough technologies made this engine shine in the on-vehicle testing stage; the 1.3T three-cylinder engine launched this year in SAIC-GM Buick's Ecotec series competed head to head with two other three-cylinder engines from independent brands, and in this we first saw the rapid response of joint-venture brands in small-displacement turbocharged engines, and second saw the strength of independent brands; this year's three-cylinder engines can be said to be the biggest highlight of all! Finally, the 2.0L hybrid gasoline engine that won an award for GAC Honda demonstrates the advantage of Japanese brands in hybrid powertrains, and its ultra-low operating-condition fuel consumption is a welcome challenge to all OEMs!
Finally, we also say a word of regret to the enterprises that did not win; being shortlisted is itself a demonstration of strength.
