Two Women Employees of the Karamay Lubricant Plant Win the City's "Outstanding Women Achievers" Award

Recently, two women employees of the Karamay Lubricant Plant, Gong Weihua and Zhang Dongqin, were awarded the honorary title of Karamay City "Outstanding Women Achievers" for 2007-2008. Comrades Gong Weihua and Zhang Dongqin work on the front lines of research and production respectively. As team leaders, they have always held themselves to the standards of Party members, working diligently and living steadily, and doing their own jobs well. Comrade Gong Weihua is director of the rubber oil research office of the research institute, mainly undertaking the research and development of the rubber oil product series, the promotion and application of new products and related technical services. In 2007 she took part in market research on rubber oil three times, being responsible respectively for market research at the country's six major sales centers, research on key industries in North China, and market research for the development of new rubber oil products. Under her leadership, the rubber oil office has won Lubricant Company's scientific and technological achievement awards on many occasions. As a team leader, she cares for the members of her office and has built a united team. She actively makes use of team meetings, adjusting the relevant rules according to the constantly changing realities of the team's work; at the same time she has improved management systems for new product development projects, technical notes, overtime sheets, preparation of publicity articles and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports, displaying them on the wall to urge everyone to comply. Comrade Zhang Dongqin is team leader of the oil storage, transport and quantitative packaging post in the finished products workshop. The quantitative filling of finished oil in the workshop is a relatively special post: it not only involves a high level of technology but also requires considerable physical strength, making the work more difficult and highly challenging for a woman employee. An ordinary team member often feels exhausted after one shift, whereas she, as a team leader, must not only do her utmost to complete her own quota but also arrange and manage the work of the team members well and carry out inspections at irregular intervals during their work to prevent mistakes. Where technical faults arise, she must also actively resolve and deal with them. "Daring to be first in the world, and not yielding to men in achievement" — it is with such a mindset that the women employees of the Karamay Lubricant Plant face their work and challenge themselves, using their wisdom and sweat to nourish the beautiful and eternal flower of "Kunlun" in their hearts.
