On September 24, following the Karamay round, the Dafeng round of the Kunlun Lubricants Cup · 2017 China Car Performance Challenge reignited the battle at the Yancheng (Dafeng) Proving Ground of the China Automotive Technology and Research Center. Fifteen top drivers in a closed-loop dual-start contest battle fiercely
The 15 amateur racers from the Kunlun Lubricants King of Cars Contest once again engaged in fierce combat to contest the Dafeng round's crown of king of cars. In choosing the competition location, this contest fully took into account the influence of weather and site factors on vehicle performance and the test for racers. Unlike the previous round, which mainly tested racers' performance in extreme climates and the natural gobi environment, the Dafeng round, as the second round of this contest, was held at the CATARC Yancheng Automotive Proving Ground, known as "Asia's No. 1 automotive test ground", and therefore attracted much attention.
The Dafeng round mainly demonstrated the most authentic vehicle performance under all-round conditions, providing a more comprehensive test of the professionalism of the racers' driving control. The competition events of this Kunlun Lubricants King of Cars Contest took the form of a dual-car simultaneous-start track time trial, with the 15 "amateur kings of cars" going two by two and driving via the two mirror-symmetrical tracks A and B to the finish. In the process, artificially set multi-curve tracks and obstacles such as cones placed an all-round test on vehicle power and handling and on the drivers' driving skills. During the competition, the 15 racers displayed "master-level driving skills", handling rapid steering and sudden stops with ease. One should remember that this was a contest among non-professional racers, yet their sense of control was no inferior to that of professional racers, and the onlookers enthusiastically cheered every racer's outstanding performance.

It is understood that the CATARC Yancheng Automotive Proving Ground has various road facilities satisfying verification and development testing and can test all performance indicators of automobiles, so the Dafeng round can challenge all the comprehensive performance characteristics of the cars.
