On December 1, at the Kunlun Lubricants Cup "China Heart" 2016 Annual Top Ten Engines Awards Ceremony, held concurrently with the 2016 Automechanika Shanghai trade fair, the winners of the Top Ten Engines were grandly announced. Ten outstanding engines from 12 automakers – FAW-Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen Audi, FAW Toyota, GAC Toyota, JAC, SAIC-GM, Geely Automobile, Dongfeng Peugeot, Dongfeng Citroën, Xiaokang Power, Dongfeng Honda and Changan Ford – stood out from all 40 engines entered in the evaluation and were finally awarded the title of "China Heart" 2016 Annual Top Ten Engines.

Founded in 2006, the "China Heart" Annual Top Ten Engines selection is organized by Auto & Sport magazine, and this year marked its eleventh edition. Over the past ten years, Auto & Sport has devoted itself wholeheartedly and meticulously to the selection and to the various sub-themed activities related to it, creating a platform that encourages positive competition among enterprises. Entering its second decade, Auto & Sport will also devote itself to promoting exchange and cooperation in generic technologies and generic research in the auto industry, encouraging enterprises both to compete and to cooperate, so that "China Heart" ultimately becomes an all-inclusive platform for China's automotive powertrains. The selection rules are continuously improved in step with the times to ensure that the activity always retains its vitality. In this year's evaluation system, the method for calculating scores on technological advancement indicators was improved so as to reflect the progress of the market.
