Recently, 14 verification items for industrial enclosed gear oils declared by two Kunlun Lubricant laboratories passed the 2025 national proficiency testing for inspection and testing institutions, with the East China Branch rated Excellent.
Proficiency testing is led by authoritative bodies such as the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA), and its results objectively reflect the testing capability level of inspection and testing institutions in relevant fields. By organizing multiple laboratories to test the same batch of uniform and stable samples (or the same measurement object) and statistically analysing the results of each laboratory, it determines whether they can issue accurate and consistent results, thereby identifying laboratories' strengths and weaknesses in testing methods, operating procedures, equipment status and personnel skills.
Among the 14 testing items that passed verification, both Kunlun Lubricant laboratories achieved zero error on the key indicator of weld load.
The deviations in test data for other core indicators of industrial enclosed gear oil declared by the East China Branch, such as liquid-phase rusting, copper strip corrosion and the four-ball machine test, were also far better than national standard limits. Review experts spoke highly of them, saying they fully meet the technical requirements of top national-level laboratories.
This year, the Lanzhou Research and Development Center submitted a total of 9 proficiency testing plans covering 26 testing items in categories including engine oils, industrial enclosed gear oils and greases, of which 22 items have passed verification to date, with a satisfaction rate of 100 percent. In addition to weld load, key indicators such as density, pour point and copper strip corrosion also achieved zero deviation.

Going forward, through subsequent proficiency testing training programmes and control measures, Kunlun Lubricant will continue to improve the testing team's technical skills and overall competence, guarding the quality inspection gate with authentic and precise data.
