Recently, the Dalian laboratory of the Kunlun Lubricant Testing and Evaluation Centre passed the China Classification Society (CCS) service supplier certification. This certification covers 19 marine oil testing items and 28 test methods, laying the foundation for Kunlun Lubricant to subsequently provide market services for the inspection (monitoring) of oils used in marine equipment.
The China Classification Society is the national ship technical inspection body, a full member of the International Association of Classification Societies and the only professional body in China engaged in ship classification surveys. At present, only 17 testing institutions nationwide have passed CCS certification, and the Dalian laboratory of the Kunlun Lubricant Testing and Evaluation Centre is among them thanks to its own technical advantages.
Real strength, winning authoritative certification in one go
Relying on its own research strength, the Kunlun Lubricant Dalian laboratory started the work of applying for China Classification Society (CCS) certification in the second half of 2019. Over the past half year, the Dalian laboratory overcame the impact of various complex factors and, despite a shortage of personnel at the beginning of the year, still ensured the smooth progress of all work, passing online preliminary review, document review and on-site audit to win CCS certification in one go. During the on-site audit, experts from the CCS review team came to the Kunlun Lubricant Dalian laboratory to conduct an on-site review of marine oil testing items and held in-depth exchanges with marine oil formulation developers at the Dalian R&D Centre. The review team experts gave full recognition and high praise to the technical capability and management level of the Kunlun Lubricant Dalian laboratory.
The CCS certification obtained by the Kunlun Lubricant Dalian laboratory provides qualification support for subsequently expanding market services for the inspection (monitoring) of oils used in marine equipment, and is another strong measure by Kunlun Lubricant to build a nationally and even globally authoritative testing institution.
Independent R&D leading industry development
