– The Karamay Municipal Government, PetroChina's lubricant company and the China Automotive Technology and Research Center sign a tripartite strategic agreement
On January 11, the "2016 China Annual Performance Vehicle Awards Ceremony" hosted by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center was grandly held in Beijing. The event attracted great attention from professionals and car enthusiasts; leading industry players such as PetroChina's lubricant company, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz gave strong support, and nearly 400 people, including executives of major automakers, competing drivers and media friends, witnessed the birth of the "Oscars" of China's production cars.
The awards ceremony had a lively atmosphere, with awards divided across multiple dimensions from single vehicle performance to overall performance, honoring models with outstanding overall performance, stable and reliable performance and outstanding single-item performance, gathering good cars for consumers while meeting the differentiated vehicle needs of different groups of people. A number of participating automakers won various awards on the strength of their capabilities. There was constant interaction, brilliance and a stream of prizes both at the event site and online.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, PetroChina is actively promoting the energy revolution on the basis of more than 20,000 service stations nationwide and working hard to contribute to building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. At the awards ceremony, in order to integrate resources and give play to their advantages, PetroChina's lubricant company, the city of Karamay and the China Automotive Technology and Research Center successfully signed a tripartite strategic cooperation agreement in the presence of guests, media and automakers. The China Automotive Technology and Research Center, with the strength of its platform, provides consumers with authentic, objective and authoritative performance evaluations of production cars; PetroChina's lubricant company, with the support of its services and technology, provides consumers with high-quality lubricant products; and the city of Karamay supports the two state-owned enterprises by providing resources and guarantees for the event. The signing of this tripartite agreement will help the three parties establish a stable cooperative relationship and is in line with their future strategic development plans.
PetroChina's lubricant company is part of PetroChina and integrates R&D, production, sales and service, with 6 regional sales companies, 11 lubricant blending plants, 2 additive production plants, 2 R&D centers and 3 holding companies, the only enterprise postdoctoral workstation in the industry, and the qualification of "Industrial Product Quality Control Laboratory" for lubricants granted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. After the founding of New China, it produced the country's first barrel of lubricant, the first grease, the first aviation lubricant and the first additive; at present it can produce more than 700 grades of lubricants, additives, metalworking fluids and greases across 19 major categories, with more than 80% of its products holding independent intellectual property rights, and a number of products have won National Technology Invention Awards and National Technology Progress Awards. It was the designated oil supplier for the military parades marking the 10th, 50th and 60th anniversaries of the founding of the People's Republic of China; it is the lubricant product supplier for many national key projects including China's first Dongfeng truck, the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant and 1,000 kV ultra-high-voltage power transmission lines; and it is the lubricant product supplier for leading customers in many industries including automobiles, nuclear power, high-speed rail, electric power, the military industry and aerospace. PetroChina's lubricant company has always kept pace with the times, grasped changes in consumption and followed market demand, using value-added services to help automakers comprehensively meet consumer needs, create value for automakers, help automakers succeed and jointly advance "Created in China".
