On April 7, the company's induction training for sales representatives opened at Dalian Kunlun School. Facing the Kunlun flower, the newly recruited sales representatives solemnly recited this induction oath. After nearly a month of concentrated training and a month of internship at a production plant, this young team will reinforce Kunlun Lubricant's sales front line.
After the nearly month-long concentrated training ended, a presentation of learning outcomes was held at Kunlun School to test its effect, consisting mainly of two parts: individual presentations of sales creativity proposals and group competitions. At the start of the training Kunlun School set requirements for the sales creativity proposals, and during the training the trainees, based on what they had learned combined with actual work and their own creative thinking, began brewing their proposals early on. As the training drew to a close, most trainees pulled several all-nighters and, while completing their individual presentation proposals, worked through discussion and cooperation with their group members to finalize their group competition proposals. Over those two days discussions in the classroom continued late into the night and the lights in the trainees' rooms stayed on into the night. Everyone was fully prepared for the coming individual presentations and group competition.
Creative presentations
On April 26, the individual presentations of sales creativity proposals took almost a full day. Fifty trainees delivered 50 creative proposals, with bright points emerging frequently during the presentations. Among them, Ren Hongyu's 'Plan for Cooperation between Kunlun and Banks', Yi Cong's 'Online Channel Marketing', Yang Hang's 'Cross-border Marketing in the Mobile Internet Era', Tian Zhao's 'Marketing Plan Assisted by Electronic Membership Cards', Luo Hao's 'Kunlun Lubricant WeChat Marketing Plan', Dong Le's 'Community Brand Promotion', Xie Haibin's 'Kunlun Products Enter the Auto Show', Chang Jingze's 'Building the Automotive Aftermarket Services Market', Li Yeping's 'Brief Discussion of Gas Engine Oil Marketing', Zeng Jie's 'Tuha Oilfield Development Plan', Xiong Jiao's 'Caring Marketing' and Wu Dandan's 'Developing Customers with the Mindset of Courtship' gave everyone a fresh perspective. Although a few proposals had similar topics, each argued from a different angle. Although each person had at most five minutes to present, everyone used the most concise language possible to express their proposals as completely and accurately as they could. Such a presentation process was also excellent training for salespeople about to start work.
On April 27, the group competition for sales creativity was held. Each of the five groups, carrying the crystallized collective wisdom of its members, selected one or two people to compete in the order determined by lot. Their proposals were: the Tianwei group's 'Rapid Maintenance Plan', the Scorpio group's 'Business User Development Plan', the Tianrun group's 'Sales Plan for Steel Plant D', the Tiangong group's '2015 Work Plan for Kunlun Tianrun in City A' and the Tianhong group's 'Online Marketing Plan for New Tianrun Premium Products'. After the group representatives presented for no more than 20 minutes, the judges asked questions, which any member of the group could answer. The competition was exceptionally lively, as everyone vied to answer questions for their group and to supplement one another. Although all five groups performed well, the Tianwei group won in the end with its unique creativity and concrete, feasible plan.
Through the individual presentations and group competition of sales creativity proposals, we saw the passion that fills these young people and the creative thinking in their minds. The proposals they presented were not only a test of their learning outcomes but also a reference for the company in carrying out related work and even in breaking through some bottlenecks. The judges commented on the proposals and offered suggestions for improvement, and Kunlun School asked everyone to revise their proposals further within two weeks, after which they would be organized and submitted to the relevant company departments.
Group photo at the graduation ceremony
After the sales competition a brief graduation ceremony was held. At the ceremony everyone watched a video of the training period made by the trainees themselves, reviewing their brief study life together. Finally, Party branch secretary Zeng Jie led everyone in revisiting the induction oath, and in the words 'I am proud to be a member of PetroChina; I will work hard and give my all to strive to build a world-class lubricant company', they concluded the first stage of the sales representative induction training with gratitude and reluctance.
