Kunlun Lubricant Awards 1.7 Million Yuan to Outstanding Drivers

Seventh "Kunlun Lubricant Award" National Top Ten Good Samaritan Drivers Selection Launched. On June 3, 2010, the seventh "Kunlun Lubricant Award" National Top Ten Good Samaritan Drivers selection, co-hosted by the China Foundation for Justice and Courage and China National Petroleum Corporation, was officially launched in Beijing. For this edition, PetroChina Lubricant Company provided a total of 1.7 million yuan in support - the seventh time Kunlun Lubricant has been the sole sponsor of the event, fully demonstrating PetroChina Lubricant Company's corporate philosophy centered on "care" and its strong image of corporate social responsibility. Li Shuntao, Executive Vice Chairman of the China Foundation for Justice and Courage; Guan Xiaohong, Deputy Chief Economist and Director of the Ideological and Political Work Department of China National Petroleum Corporation; Guo Yuying, Secretary-General of the China Foundation for Justice and Courage; Liu Shibin, Deputy Director of the Publicity Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security; and Xu Yuanke, Secretary of the Party Committee of PetroChina Lubricant Company, attended the launch ceremony. Over the six years since the National Top Ten Good Samaritan Drivers selection was launched, its social influence has grown year by year, and the public welfare brand of the Good Samaritan Drivers selection has gradually taken root in people's hearts. According to Li Shuntao, Executive Vice Chairman of the China Foundation for Justice and Courage, since 2004, 303 good Samaritan drivers from across the country have been commended in the first six editions. Regardless of danger, they acted courageously and selflessly, seeking neither fame nor profit, and are truly heroes of the new era. In order to encourage more people to take part in the cause of justice and courage, to set off a nationwide upsurge of learning from heroes and cherishing heroes, and to make new and greater contributions to building a harmonious society, this edition increased both the prize amounts and the number of awards, with event funding rising from 900,000 yuan to 1.7 million yuan. Ten "Kunlun Lubricant Award" National Top Ten Good Samaritan Drivers will be selected, each receiving 50,000 yuan, up 20,000 yuan from the previous edition; 50 "Kunlun Lubricant Award" National Good Samaritan Drivers will be selected, ten more than the previous edition, each receiving 20,000 yuan, with prize money up 10,000 yuan from last year. This edition also establishes 20 "Good Samaritan Driver City Awards" and ten "Good Samaritan Driver Organization Awards." Since the "Kunlun Lubricant Award Good Samaritan Drivers Caring Account" was set up in 2007, the event judging panel has visited and expressed sympathy to more than ten past award-winning drivers and organized convalescent care for previous good Samaritan drivers. This year, the caring account will continue to follow the work and living conditions of award-winning good Samaritan drivers, bringing lasting care to heroes. In addition, to implement the low-carbon concept, this edition has cancelled paper ballots. Public voting will be mobilized through the internet and mobile phones, creating a convenient and fast platform for the public to select heroes and extending the Good Samaritan Drivers selection into even broader fields. It is understood that China currently has 199 million people holding motor vehicle driving licenses. The driver community is highly mobile and frequently encounters public security incidents, making it an increasingly important force in safeguarding public order.
