Daqing No. 1 Lubricant Plant Holds Its 2008 Annual Training Summary

and the Commendation Meeting of the Fifth Employee Skills Competition
Recently, the Daqing No. 1 Lubricant Plant held its 2008 annual training summary and commendation meeting. The meeting summarised the experience of the previous year's training work, which is of great significance for better implementing the new year's training plan, creating an atmosphere in which learning skills is glorious and learning skills brings tangible benefits, and continuously advancing the steady and healthy development of the enterprise.
Employee training has always been an important part of the management work of the Daqing No. 1 Plant. Over many years the plant has formed a new pattern of training work that has both long-term goals and annual plans and both an overall layout and specific measures. Every year, in light of production realities and characteristics, the plant carries out various forms of skills training and technical competitions, achieving a certain practical effect in raising the overall quality of employees. In 2008, the Daqing No. 1 Plant held the fifth employee skills competition, with all more than 100 operating personnel in the plant taking the practical operation examination. After three months of theoretical and practical competition, six employees finally won the title of pacesetting skilled worker and 19 employees won the title of skilled worker. Because the plant's employee training was carried out solidly and effectively, at the second employee vocational skills competition held by Lubricant Company in 2008 two employees of the plant won second and ninth place respectively in the filling and drum-making category.
At the summary and commendation meeting, the Daqing No. 1 Plant gave each of the six pacesetting skilled workers an award of 3,000 yuan and gave the skilled workers an award of 1,000 yuan. At the same time, Li Feng, who won second place in the filling and drum-making category at the company's employee vocational skills competition, received a special award of 4,000 yuan and a one-grade salary increase. This measure of generous rewards greatly encouraged employees in operating positions, and the atmosphere of learning skills and catching up with the advanced has grown stronger in the Daqing No. 1 Plant.
