On October 17, all events of the Kunming Songming Jialize leg of the 2018 Kunlun Lubricant King of Racing came to a close. High-altitude racing: amateur masters stage a chasing battle
On the day of the final, October 17, the magnificent Jialize welcomed a gathering of friends, and the 10 amateur masters who had passed the repeated tests of the qualifying rounds were in high spirits and full of enthusiasm. Because the race was held in a plateau area, the organisers devoted a particular session at the pre-race safety training meeting to the precautions for high-altitude events before the official competition began.
At ten in the morning, the 0-400 metre drag race was held first. The competition took the form of a single-run timed event: each driver had two attempts, and the best single time was recorded. As the starting flag was raised, engines roared on the track, the first driver focused entirely on the sprint, spectators' eyes followed the speeding car closely, and the drivers waiting off the track joked with one another to relieve the tension. These drivers were all wearing professional racing suits for the first time, and many were reluctant to take them off even after finishing. Songming Jialize was bathed in bright sunshine that day, and running around in thick racing suits at 22 degrees showed how deeply they love the sport. More than an hour later, the other nine drivers also completed the drag race amid an atmosphere of tension and excitement.

The combined circuit race that followed was the most spectacular event of the competition. The two-car, head-to-head timed format had drivers going all out from the start, yet gaining an advantage on the short straight was in fact very difficult. The two cars racing in opposite directions performed high-speed cornering and drifting that set hearts pounding in the same arena, and the enthusiastic spectators cheered the drivers on ceaselessly, almost forgetting that they were at an altitude of more than two thousand metres.

In the end, according to the scoring rules of the competition, Liu Chuan, Liang Shuai and Wei Kexing took the top three places. More than a month later, they will join the top three of the Yancheng (Dafeng) leg final in Yakeshi, the land of ice and snow, to compete for the annual "Kunlun King" crown.
