Kunlun Lubricants: "Forging Technological Leadership and Challenging the Limits of Lubrication"

In recent years, as the reliability of domestic engines and China's independent lubricant technology have continued to advance, the research, promotion and application of oils with ultra-long oil change intervals have become feasible. Many OEMs and end users have raised the need for diesel engine oils with ultra-long oil change intervals. To meet the needs of a broad base of users, Kunlun Lubricants established the long-life diesel engine oil joint research group at the Lanzhou Lubricant R&D Center. This group is an elite team for independent domestic diesel engine oil R&D; it has won the only National Science and Technology Progress Award in China's engine oil field and is recognized by the industry as a model of Chinese lubricant innovation. The project team carried out three years of technical research and achieved a major technological breakthrough in the study of long-life diesel engine oil. It successively overcame the international technical challenges of oil oxidation resistance, dispersancy, anti-wear performance and detergent durability, and the long-life diesel engine oil developed has passed a large number of simulated performance tests, a full set of standard bench tests, OEM long-life diesel engine oil bench assessment tests and road tests.
This Kunlun long-life diesel engine oil, independently developed by the PetroChina Lanzhou Lubricant R&D Center with independent intellectual property rights, completed a 155,000-kilometre oil change interval road test on nine FAW J6 heavy trucks in Heilongjiang. The oil has now accumulated more than 4 million kilometres of real-vehicle road testing across various road conditions, climates, loads and makes and models of heavy trucks.

The engine dismantling inspection and oil monitoring for the three vehicles on the 155,000-kilometre oil change interval showed that all indicators were far below the oil change criteria for ordinary 15,000-kilometre oil change interval products. The conclusions drawn by the FAW 4S store and the Haorui Logistics fleet from the engine inspection after 155,000 kilometres were as follows: the main working components were clean, the piston rings were flexible, and no lacquer film had formed on the piston skirts; no sludge had formed on the rocker arm covers or the oil pan; no abnormal wear was found on the bearing shells, and the oil performed excellently. The Kunlun long-life diesel engine oil therefore meets the lubrication requirements of a 155,000-kilometre oil change interval and still has the potential for continued use.
It is understood that the common impression of truck drivers after use is that Kunlun long-life diesel engine oil performs well, has low oil consumption, saves fuel, gives high vehicle availability, requires no preheating in extremely cold weather and greatly reduces maintenance costs.
