Kunlun Lubricant Accelerates Construction of Skid-Mounted Diesel Exhaust Fluid Stations

On June 15 and 16, an on-site meeting on the construction of 'Kunlun Star' skid-mounted diesel exhaust fluid stations was held in Qinghai. The meeting summarized the pilot situation of the skid-mounted stations, analysed the characteristics of the industry and made specific arrangements for the overall promotion of skid-mounted stations in the next stage. Zhao Chuanxiang, chief accountant of PetroChina Sales Company, and Wang Ling, general manager of PetroChina Lubricant Company, attended the meeting and spoke. More than 70 people from 15 sales enterprises and related bodies, including those of Qinghai, Anhui, Jiangsu and Heilongjiang, attended the on-site meeting.
On December 29, 2015, PetroChina's first set of skid-mounted diesel exhaust fluid station officially went into operation at the Yunjiaokou service station in Qinghai, and over the past six months it has produced obvious economic and social benefits.
Diesel exhaust fluid, commonly known as urea aqueous solution, can reduce NOx emissions in diesel vehicle exhaust and is an essential product for diesel vehicles to meet the China IV and higher emission standards. Since the full implementation of the China IV emission standard the market's requirements for vehicle urea aqueous solution have entered a new stage, with large market demand and broad prospects. In April 2015 the Lubricant Company and Qinghai Provincial Sales Company jointly carried out pilot work on skid-mounted diesel exhaust fluid at the Xining Yunjiaokou service station, and it was formally put into use at the end of that year, with the diesel exhaust fluid delivered to the service station by the Lanzhou Lubricant Plant in ton tanks.
Zhao Chuanxiang, chief accountant of PetroChina Sales Company, spoke highly of this work and analysed its prospects, saying that as the government and the public raise their requirements and attention regarding environmental protection, and as diesel vehicles must meet the China IV emission standard, diesel exhaust fluid has broad prospects. Attention must be paid to the contribution of diesel exhaust fluid to boosting sales and profits in the retail link at service stations, and the importance of integrated marketing of 'fuel, cards, non-oil goods and lubricants' must be fully recognized so as to achieve complementary advantages.
Zhao Chuanxiang stressed that doing a good job of building skid-mounted stations is both a way of advancing the construction of the segment's own products and an important piece of work in advancing the transformation of service stations into comprehensive automotive service platforms. Judging from the pilot operation of the Qinghai skid-mounted station, the segment's benefits have been maximized. In the next stage the provincial sales companies and the Lubricant Company must work closely together and do a good job of plan alignment; they must strengthen control over the process of investment construction to ensure compliance and control; they must do a good job of post-project evaluation; and they must unswervingly strengthen lubricant sales, create quality service terminals and achieve the goal of building 60 skid-mounted stations by the end of the year.
Wang Ling, general manager of PetroChina Lubricant Company, stressed the purpose, significance and promotional value of building urea aqueous solution skid-mounted stations, and expressed the hope that PetroChina Lubricant Company could contribute to PetroChina Sales Company's goal of 'building service stations into rest stops for people, vehicles and life'.
