PetroChina's First Skid-Mounted Diesel Exhaust Fluid Station Officially Opens

At 12:06 on December 29, 2015, Song Xia, manager of the Xining Yunjiaokou service station of the Qinghai Provincial Sales Company, filled 23.3 liters of Kunlun Star diesel exhaust fluid into a truck bearing the license plate 'Qing A65877'. This was the first vehicle and first nozzle fill at the 'Kunlun Star' diesel exhaust fluid skid-mounted station and also marked the official opening of PetroChina's first skid-mounted diesel exhaust fluid station.
Diesel exhaust fluid, commonly known as urea aqueous solution, has entered a new stage in market requirements for vehicle urea solution products since the full implementation of the China IV emission standard and the promulgation and implementation of the national standard for diesel engine nitrogen oxide reductant, urea aqueous solution (AUS32). Vehicle urea solution can reduce NOx emissions from diesel vehicle exhaust and is an essential product for diesel vehicles to meet China IV and higher emission standards; it accords with the country's increasingly strict environmental requirements and has large market demand and broad prospects.
In April 2015 the company proposed carrying out pilot work on skid-mounted diesel exhaust fluid units at service stations. Working closely with Qinghai Provincial Sales Company, it installed two integrated skid-mounted units between the two pillars of the fueling island at the Xining Yunjiaokou service station in Qinghai, with two independent solution storage tanks with a total capacity of 6 tons. The equipment has its own heating facility with automatic temperature control, its appearance is designed in line with service station construction standards and it communicates a strong environmental selling point. It is used in the same way as a fuel dispenser and is easy to operate. The diesel exhaust fluid is delivered to the service station by the Lanzhou Lubricant Plant in ton tanks.
Judging from the fill for Master Guo, the equipment ran well and the operating process was smooth, making a good start toward building a model station for promoting bulk filling of diesel exhaust fluid at PetroChina service stations. Master Guo also praised Kunlun Star diesel exhaust fluid highly: 'Not only is the bulk product as good in quality as the product in drums, it also saves 25 yuan compared with the 10 kg pack, lowering the cost of running my vehicle. I will keep filling up here in the future, and I will recommend Kunlun Star diesel exhaust fluid to other drivers.'
To ensure that nothing unexpected happens during future filling, the company also organized a special meeting at which it exchanged views with the relevant departments on a number of detailed matters and made arrangements for the next steps in the work at the Huiyuan service station in Qinghai.
