Kunlun Lubricant Advances on Land and at Sea, with Two Technologies Unique in China

Recently, the RHY3532 cylinder oil additive package produced by Kunlun Lubricant obtained technical certification from MAN B&W, a world-renowned marine engine OEM. This marks that Kunlun is currently the only company in China able to supply a package for the BOB system used specifically on ocean-going vessels.
The BOB system can blend marine system oil with a BOB dedicated additive package through automatic control equipment into cylinder oil with any target base number, offering clear advantages in energy saving and environmental protection. It is the world's newest marine technology at present and places extremely high demands on the lubricant used. Before Kunlun, only Mobil was qualified in the world to supply oil for the BOB system. After two years of research and development, Kunlun Lubricant overcame a series of difficulties including the high cost of foreign ultra-high-base-number detergents, foreign technology blockades and the unstable performance of domestic ultra-high-base-number detergents. Through technical cooperation with domestic additive plants and the redesign and optimization of the cylinder oil formulation, Kunlun finally arrived at a formulation with a treat rate far lower than that of the original cylinder oil package, greatly reducing product cost. Kunlun's package performed outstandingly in rigorous voyage tests and cylinder inspections and passed MAN B&W certification smoothly. This breakthrough in technology not only filled the technological gap for domestic oil companies in this area but is also expected to raise the overall R&D level of domestic lubricant enterprises in marine lubricants.
In fact, obtaining MAN B&W certification is only one manifestation of Kunlun's strong technological advantages, and these advantages are even more evident in commercial vehicle lubricants. As a major breakthrough in vehicle oil technology, Kunlun's high-temperature detergent patent technology has greatly improved high-temperature detergency, oxidation resistance and extreme pressure anti-wear performance. The technology Preparation Technology and Industrial Application of Extreme Pressure Anti-Wear Additives and Packages for Gear Oils, developed with this technology at its core, won a second prize of the National Technology Invention Award. This is also the first and currently the only national invention award in the lubricant field.
At present, based mainly on the patent high-temperature detergent formulation system, Kunlun Lubricant has completed the comprehensive upgrade of its Tianhong diesel engine oil, consolidating Kunlun's traditional advantage in commercial vehicle lubricants while also reaching internationally advanced levels. Of course, the successful development of this formulation is also of great significance to Kunlun's future development and is one of the important measures for Kunlun to achieve a breakthrough in the high-end market.
Guided by Kunlun's overall corporate development strategy of strengthening the foundation and optimizing for improvement, Kunlun Lubricant has advanced on land and at sea, leading the development of the domestic lubricant industry through continuous technological breakthroughs.
