Beijing Vice Mayor Zhang Yankun Visits the Beijing Plant for Research

On the morning of February 3, Beijing Vice Mayor Zhang Yankun, accompanied by Li Changyou, secretary of the Daxing District Party committee, made a special trip to the Beijing Kunlun Lubricant Plant to research safety standardization work. During the visit he heard a briefing, inspected the safety operating environment, watched a special film on safety work and gave important instructions on the operation of enterprise safety standardization. Li Xiaodong, deputy general manager of the company, and others accompanied the visit.
On behalf of the company, Li Xiaodong first extended a warm welcome to Zhang Yankun for his guidance and briefly introduced the company and the Beijing Plant. Zhang Yankun took an interest in the display of the main lubricant product varieties produced by the Beijing Plant. When he learned that the plant supplies matching oil for BAIC Foton, Zhang Yankun said that alliance among Beijing enterprises is a trend of sound development and that cooperation should be deepened for common progress.
Zhang Yankun then went to the plant's laboratory to check hazardous chemical management and the occupational health protection of laboratory technicians, and expressed satisfaction with careful work such as the safe storage of hazardous chemicals, rigorous management and clear records, the prominent hazard notices in the operating rooms and the proper personal protection of laboratory technicians.
Next, Zhang Yankun visited the tank area and the warehouses. Liu Zonghai, director of the Beijing Plant, briefly introduced the plant's storage and logistics and explained its practice of applying unified health, safety and environment system management standards to contractors. Seeing the tidy plant area, the orderly dispatch of delivery vehicles, the neatly stacked goods and the uniformly dressed personnel, Zhang Yankun affirmed the plant's implementation of work safety standardization.

At the site, Zhang Yankun also asked about the Beijing Plant's main safety risks and prevention and control measures and about the firefighting force available where the plant is located, randomly checked the condition of the fire hydrants in the tank area, and stressed that standardization work should focus on two aspects: first, strengthening work safety awareness, implementing work safety responsibilities and reinforcing risk management and control to ensure safe production; and second, earnestly implementing rules and regulations, understanding and abiding by the law, operating in compliance, and standardizing operating procedures and employee behavior, promoting intrinsic safety so as to continuously raise the level of safe operation.
After the research visit, Li Xiaodong thanked Zhang Yankun on behalf of the company for his care and guidance and said that, with the guidance and help of Beijing's governments at all levels, we are confident of perfecting rules and regulations, strengthening their enforcement, deepening the integration of systems with production and operations, promoting the effective operation of safety, health and environmental protection work, achieving the enterprise's sustained and healthy development and contributing more to Beijing's development.
