Kunlun Lubricants food-grade lubricating oil is officially launched.

June 7 each year is designated by the United Nations as “World Food Safety Day,” aiming to promote heightened attention to food safety issues worldwide. This year’s theme is “Safer food, better health,” calling for a series of concrete actions to make food safer. As World Food Safety Day approaches, the NSF H1-grade Kunlun food-grade hydraulic oil, gear oil, and high-temperature chain oil launched by China Petroleum Lubricant Company and registered as food-grade products by the international certification organization NSF International are officially on the market. This marks Kunlun Lubricants’ commitment to safeguarding the domestic food industry and helping ensure the safety of oil use in the food industry.
China has an old saying: “Food is the first necessity of the people.” Only when people can eat with confidence can they truly feel reassured; food safety is no small matter. As an important auxiliary product in the food industry, lubricating oil is a key factor related to food safety and can be called the “blood” flowing through machinery and equipment. However, some industrial-grade lubricating oils contain toxic and harmful substances such as certain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heavy metals. Once leakage occurs, they may contaminate food and cause food safety incidents. Therefore, food-grade lubricating oil plays an irreplaceably important role in ensuring food safety.
So how is food-grade lubricant defined, and are there any relevant regulations or standards?
Currently, many countries around the world have their own regulations and standards for food-grade lubricants. The most widely recognized standard globally is the NSF International standard, which classifies food-grade lubricants into three grades: H1, H2, and H3. The highest grade is NSF H1, which permits incidental contact with food. It must not only meet the lubrication requirements of processing machinery in the food industry but also prevent contamination of food.
