Lubricant Company Party Committee Holds a Forum for New and Veteran Party Members

Since Lubricant Company fully launched its in-depth study and practice of the Scientific Outlook on Development, the company's Party committee has always treated educating Party members and cadres to keep firmly in mind the Party's purposes and firm up their ideals and convictions as an important task. Through the tangible vehicle of holding a forum for new and veteran Party members, it further unified the thinking of Party members and cadres and effectively promoted the in-depth development of the company's study and practice activities. On the afternoon of April 1, more than 20 new and veteran Party members gathered together to revisit the Party's purposes, talk freely about the Party's advanced nature and, closely combining this with their own realities, review the experience of their personal growth under the Party's cultivation, displaying a positive and upward-looking spirit. Xu Yuanke, secretary of the company's Party committee, Luo Guiru, member of the Party committee, and Yu Wenkui, member of the Party committee, took part in the discussion.
"Thanks to the Party for its cultivation and education; I want to strive to be a qualified Communist Party member in my actual work." Deeply feeling the care of the company's Party committee, the new Party members expressed their excitement in sincere words. Eight new Party members posted to places such as the Wuxi plant reported in detail on their study and work experience, expounded their understanding of and love for the Party, and expressed their determination to be grounded in their posts, safeguard the honour of Party members and play an exemplary vanguard role. "From that moment on, I knew that as one of millions of Party members I cannot forget, still less violate, the oath I swore under the Party flag. From that moment on, I deeply realised: I am a Party member, and it starts with me."
Zhang Shihai, vice chairman of the labor union, as a representative of veteran Party members, once again revisited with everyone the sacred moment of swearing an oath before the Party flag and sincerely expressed the true feelings of a veteran Party member. The heads of administrative departments and the secretaries of the Party branches also spoke actively in their capacity as veteran Party members about their personal experience of joining the Party, reviewed and summarised the Party's glorious course in different historical periods and put forward earnest hopes for the new Party members.
In the discussion, Chief Accountant Yu Wenkui explained the concrete manifestation of the advanced nature of Party members from his own experience and expressed the hope that new and veteran Party members would strengthen their awareness of organization, responsibility and taking the lead by example in their work and play the role of Party members in the company's reform and development. In the discussion, Vice General Manager Luo Guiru earnestly hoped that new and veteran Party members would practise the Party's purposes, be promoters of social development and progress and disseminators of advanced thinking, and in study and practice deeply comprehend the spiritual essence of the Scientific Outlook on Development, take it as guidance and comprehensively raise all aspects of the company's work. He also said that he would influence and lead the comrades around him through his own practical actions.
Party Secretary Xu Yuanke exchanged views cordially with the new and veteran Party members and fully affirmed the important significance of this activity. He put forward five requirements for the new and veteran Party members: first, always keep firm in ideals and convictions and be clear about "why one joins the Party"; second, establish a sense of responsibility, be loyal to one's duties and work diligently; third, study diligently and advance with the times; fourth, keep the grassroots in mind, serve the masses and make selfless contributions; and fifth, handle affairs impartially and remain honest and clean.
Finally, on behalf of the company's Party committee, Secretary Xu put forward three hopes for Party organizations at all levels and leading Party cadres in the company:
First, they should clearly recognise the situation, lift their spirits and firm up confidence in overcoming difficulties. They must have a full and dialectical understanding of the current situation and difficulties, overcome the fear of hardship, build up the courage to overcome difficulties, escort economic work with political advantages and continuously advance the company's reform and development.
Second, they should raise awareness, make careful arrangements and solidly carry out the study and practice activities. They must always adhere to leading cadres taking the lead, further unify the thinking and understanding of the broad mass of Party members and cadres around actively responding to the international financial crisis and around the company's work deployment, seize development opportunities amid difficulties and challenges and fully complete all the company's work tasks.
Third, they should emancipate the mind, seek truth and be pragmatic, and explore new approaches to Party building work. They should continue to use the building of "four-good" leadership teams and the creation of "six ones" as vehicles, deepen the themed practical activity of "consolidating the foundation and strengthening the base, optimising and improving," change the working style of administrative organs, strengthen Party conduct and integrity building and push the company's Party building work to a new level.
