น้ำมันเครื่องมอเตอร์ไซค์ On September 23-24, the China Lubrication Technology Forum (2020), co-hosted by the editorial departments of "Lubricating Oil" and "Lubrication and Sealing" and co-organised by the PetroChina Lubricant Key Laboratory, was successfully held in Fuzhou. With the theme "Energising New Infrastructure, Transforming Lubrication", this year's forum focused on frontier trends and scientific research results in the lubricant field, gathered strength for industrial upgrading and jointly sought the blueprint for the lubricant industry, attracting nearly 200 industry experts and scholars from China and abroad — experts, R&D and production technicians and marketing specialists from the lubricant, additive and related industries.
The China Lubrication Technology Forum was initiated by the editorial department of "Lubricating Oil" under PetroChina Lubricant Company. From 1986 to 2020, spanning more than thirty years, it has witnessed the development of China's lubricant industry and is a bellwether of China's lubricant technology development. In this special period, to meet the needs of participants, the forum adopted a combination of online and offline formats for the first time, allowing people to attend online by logging into a cloud platform via mobile phone or computer; livestream videos were viewed more than 6,000 times.
Escalating challenges: discussing the industry's mission under new circumstances
In 2020, the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 increased the complexity facing social and economic development, and every industry faced severe challenges, the lubricant industry included. At the same time, the state proposed accelerating the pace of building new types of infrastructure, which also set higher requirements for the development of the lubricant industry. As an indispensable lubrication force behind new infrastructure, lubricants are closely related to the development of national infrastructure construction, mobility, automobiles, robotics and other industries. How China's lubricant industry, seeking progress amid change, can achieve substantial development amid global trends is the era's mission for the whole industry. As Tang Zhongping, deputy chief engineer of PetroChina Lubricant Company, noted in his speech, under the guidance of high-quality economic development, "new infrastructure" has become an important growth point of the new economy. Against this backdrop, the forum's theme "Energising New Infrastructure, Transforming Lubrication" could not be more timely. It is hoped that through in-depth discussion at the forum, suggestions will be offered for the high-quality development of China's lubricant industry and a world answer will be given for the Chinese lubricant industry in this special period.

The forum conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges and discussions on new issues and trends in the development of the lubricant industry under special circumstances, market demand, and the R&D and application of high-end lubricants (greases), with several heavyweight industry figures sharing reports on related topics.
Mr Paul Hetherington of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers participated in the forum in audio form, giving a keynote report on new issues and trends in tribology and lubrication engineering, analysing current new demands and development directions in the lubricant market and offering direction and suggestions for lubricant research.
Feng Wei, Guangzhou Mechanical Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd.
Dr Feng Wei of Guangzhou Mechanical Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. gave a keynote report titled "Digital Engineering and Practice for the Lubrication Safety of Major Equipment", highlighting the importance of adopting scientific condition monitoring and diagnostic technologies to achieve intelligent, safe operation and maintenance of large equipment, and introducing the features and application cases of the current cloud platform.
Zhang Chenhui, Tsinghua University
Professor Zhang Chenhui of Tsinghua University gave a keynote report on research into the role of hydration effects in water lubrication, sharing the possibilities and research results of using hydration forces to achieve water lubrication. He proposed adding strongly hydrating ions to water so that they adsorb onto the negatively charged surface of friction pairs through electrostatic interaction, forming a hydration layer and achieving superlubricity, offering new ideas for research in the lubrication industry.
Responsibility and commitment: leading industry innovation and development
Facing new challenges, how the lubricant industry will respond and seize new opportunities was also addressed by several Kunlun Lubricant experts, who actively shared their latest research results and offered suggestions for industry progress and innovative development.
Li Jianming, PetroChina Lanzhou Lubricant Research and Development Centre
Li Jianming of PetroChina Lanzhou Lubricant Research and Development Centre shared PetroChina's approach to developing high-end lubricating greases, noting that the key technical issues for high-end bearing greases are innovative design of the structural composition adapted to working conditions and stable mass-production processes. Achieving breakthroughs in grease performance and improvements in technical and economic efficiency requires solving bottleneck technical problems in areas such as mechanical stability, colloidal stability and tribological performance, strengthening the development of high value-added products and adopting a customised development model.
Huang Dongsheng, PetroChina Dalian Lubricant Research and Development Centre
Huang Dongsheng of PetroChina Dalian Lubricant Research and Development Centre shared research on the performance and application of transmission oils for off-road equipment, using case studies to demonstrate Kunlun Lubricant's solutions to noise problems and gear-shift shock issues.
Wang Junming, PetroChina Lanzhou Lubricant Research and Development Centre
Wang Junming of PetroChina Lanzhou Lubricant Research and Development Centre shared an outstanding paper titled "Development and Application of Barium-Free Environmentally Friendly Antirust Oil", focusing on Kunlun Lubricant's development research into antirust agents for barium-free environmentally friendly antirust oils, and exchanged views with the audience.
As a member of the "national team" of China's lubricant industry, Kunlun Lubricant keeps pioneering in R&D, demonstrating the responsibility and commitment of an industry leader. Its high-speed rail gear oil replaced Japanese products, breaking the foreign technology monopoly and being successfully applied to the "Fuxing" EMU; its independently developed special grease for robots reaches the international advanced level and fills a domestic gap; its wind power gear oil has been successfully applied to megawatt-class wind turbines, breaking the monopoly of foreign brands; and its transformer oil became the only designated oil for the world's first ±1100 kV power transmission project... The Kunlun Lubricant R&D team has taken the initiative to shoulder the historical mission of lubricating China's military, national defence, steel, nuclear power, mobility and other fields vital to the national economy and people's livelihood... It has invented three major lubrication mechanisms, formed three major lubrication technologies and solved three major lubrication challenges, letting "Made in China" speak on the international stage again and again and applying scientific and technological achievements to the great cause of modernisation.
The sustained development of the lubricant industry cannot be separated from win-win cooperation within the industry. 2020 is the closing year of the 13th Five-Year Plan and also the closing year for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, which sets higher requirements for every industry. China's lubricant industry must advance hand in hand, strengthen technical exchange and cooperation, truly grasp market needs and application opportunities, continuously improve service quality and boost industry upgrading.
