Kunlun FSC Campus Tour | Guilin University of Aerospace Technology's Hang V Team Unveils Its New Car

At 4:10 p.m. on September 20, the 2016 Formula Student China campus tour, together with the new car launch of the Hang V team of Guilin University of Aerospace Technology, was grandly held at Youth Square on the North Campus. The launch was attended by school leaders and teachers including Vice President Yang Jie, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office Xu Mi, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department (Office) Liu Lixiangjun and Dean Wang Guofu of the School of Automobile and Transportation Engineering, by Shen Ke, Deputy Secretary-General of the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, Li Kemin, Deputy President of Auto Fan magazine, and Zhang Shuai, technical officer of the FSC Organizing Committee, and by specially invited corporate guests including Xu Lilin, General Manager of Guangxi Guilin Dongcheng Automobile Sales & Service Co., Ltd., and Jing Xiaoyong, Chairman of Guilin Tiancheng Vehicle Service Co., Ltd., as well as reporters from China Petroleum Daily and Guilin TV, representatives of campus media, and student representatives from the university's major organizations and clubs.

Nearly 100 people attended this campus tour event, including Yang Jie, Vice President of Guilin University of Aerospace Technology, Shen Ke, Deputy Secretary-General of the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, Li Kemin, Deputy President of Auto Fan magazine, representatives of Kunlun Lubricants, and student representatives of the university's major organizations and clubs.
The host's impassioned opening and a cool, energetic dance heated up the atmosphere on site. Vice President Yang Jie of Guilin University of Aerospace Technology spoke first; he extended a warm welcome to the Organizing Committee, to Kunlun Lubricants and to guests from all sides, and expressed strong support and appreciation for the holding of the "Kunlun Lubricants Cup" 2016 Formula Student China competition. He said that all members of the Hang V team interpret the philosophy of "unity of knowledge and action – create, and act" through their spirit of hard work, enterprise and readiness to shoulder heavy responsibilities; that the university will as always support the competition and the development of the team; that it looks forward to Hang V achieving good results in this year's competition; and he reminded the students that while the competition matters greatly, safety comes first.
Shen Ke, Deputy Secretary-General of the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, said that the "Kunlun Lubricants Cup" Formula Student China is a common platform for cultivating automotive talent and has now been held for six consecutive editions. The competition takes as its main purpose discovering, cultivating and supplying talent for China's auto industry, and the "automotive elite talent training platform" it has built is helping China's auto industry transform from a "big manufacturing country" into an "industrial power". He also thanked the university's leaders and teachers for their support and the students for their active participation, extended an invitation to the university for the October finals, and said that he wished to share the students' passion and dreams with everyone.
Vice President Yang Jie of Guilin University of Aerospace Technology, General Manager Xu Lilin of Guangxi Guilin Dongcheng Automobile Sales & Service Co., Ltd., Chairman Jing Xiaoyong of Guilin Tiancheng Vehicle Service Co., Ltd. and Deputy Secretary-General Shen Ke of the Society of Automotive Engineers of China jointly unveiled the new "Hang V No. 2" car, after which Vice President Yang Jie applied the competition number to the Hang V No. 2 that was about to set off for the event. Its streamlined, dynamic body and clean, well-proportioned appearance dominated by black, white and yellow drew the eyes of teachers, students and guests alike. After a team flag handover ceremony between the 2015 season captain and the 2016 season captain, all team members held a send-off ceremony. In the closing racing demonstration, the driver skillfully drove the new car around the track in a "V" shape, demonstrating the excellent performance of the car in every respect.
In the exchange session after the launch, representatives of Kunlun Lubricants talked actively with the students, stressing that building a racing car requires not only practical engineering experience but also meticulous refinement and a spirit of constant improvement toward every detail – high standards, strict requirements, and enjoyment of the car-building process.
Surrounded by the students, the technical officer and the experts patiently explained matters and answered questions on site, sharing professional insights on racing car design and manufacturing in an accessible way. The lively atmosphere on site speaks for itself – the photos say it all!
