Northwest Branch Actively Protects Kunlun Vehicle Oil Rights and Fights Counterfeits in Qinghai and Tibet

In 2009, the Northwest Branch struck hard to strengthen market rights protection and market order management, cracking down severely on all kinds of infringing and counterfeit products through various means. Working with local industry and commerce and quality inspection departments, it conducted six rights protection and anti-counterfeiting operations in Guide County, Menyuan County and Qilian County in Qinghai Province, Lhasa City and Shannan Prefecture in Tibet. During these operations, the relevant departments lawfully confiscated counterfeit products (Kunlun Tiange, Tianhong, Tiangong, Tianwei and Kunlun Star) and infringing products (Kunlun Tianzun, Kunlun No. 1, Kunlun Light and Kunlun Heavy Industry) weighing 7 tons and worth more than 80,000 yuan. The tide of counterfeiting and infringement in the Qinghai-Tibet area was effectively curbed.

In mid-October 2009, after the Northwest Branch found more counterfeit and infringing products at certain lubricant sales outlets in Qinghai, it immediately reported the matter to the Economic Investigation Detachment of the Golmud Industry and Commerce Bureau in Qinghai Province and to the Hexi and Jinfeng Road industry and commerce offices. The relevant departments inspected some auto parts and oil product dealerships in the corresponding areas and lawfully confiscated 651 drums of infringing and counterfeit Kunlun Tiangong, Tiange and Tianhong products in small and medium packaging. The persons in charge of the shops selling counterfeits were severely criticized, and the departments also penalized the shops in accordance with laws and regulations including the Product Quality Law, the Trademark Law and the Anti-Unfair Competition Law. Fighting counterfeits and protecting rights is not only the responsibility and obligation of the trademark holder but also affects the interests of distributors, end users and many others. This rights protection activity greatly purified the local lubricant market, taught many customers ways and methods to identify counterfeit Kunlun products, and effectively curbed the occurrence of knowingly producing, making, trafficking in and selling counterfeit goods.
